I finally finished the book after nonstop reading of 3 days between classes and one thing that kept nagging at me. I noticed that she never explicitly said that she loved Sam Robards. The closest I found was Betty saying that was in love with Sam. Which got me to thinking, do you think Bogie was her only real/true love?

Hello :) I am working on a fan site/tribute to Lauren (Lauren-Bacall.org) and I would love to get input from fellow fans! I'm currently working on the pages and gallery as I wait for the layout to be completed and while I wait, I wanted to ask everyone:

What would you like to see at the site? I plan on having a gallery, a press archive, media (graphics, videos) extensive information on Lauren's career and her life. If anyone has anything to donate (photos, scans, screencaps, quotes, information, etc.) I would absolutely love that! Donations are always welcome :)

My main goal is to make this the best source for Ms. Bacall and I can't do that with help from all of you!

I found a link to a video of Anjelica Huston presenting Lauren Bacall with the Oscar and Lauren's acceptance speech.

I love that they chose Angelica to present the award to Lauren. Angelica shares a little bit of their history. I'd read about it in Lauren's By Myself and Then Some, but it was still sweet to actually hear/see it.

At last Lauren Bacall has received her honorary Oscar for lifetime's work. Beautiful. About time, too, don't you think?



According to nydailynews "Still spry at 85, she brushed away an usher who offered to help her to the podium at Saturday night's Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 2009 Governors Awards."
